RR vs DC: R Ashwin’s batting stance against Delhi Capitals triggers a memes fest

IPL 2022, RR vs DC: Ravi Ashwin scored a crucial half-century against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and improvised quite a bit during his knock.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Ravi Ashwin hogged the headlines after he took a weird stance during the match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday, May 11 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. After the Royals elected to bat first, RR lost the early wicket of Jos Buttler, who is the Orange Cap holder of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) with three centuries.

Left-arm fast bowler Chetan Sakariya got rid of him to cut short his stay in the middle. Thereafter, skipper Sanju Samson demoted himself and sent Ashwin to bat at No.3. Ashwin didn’t flatter to deceive as he scored 50 runs off 38 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. The veteran got to his half-century off 37 balls and it happened to be his maiden fifty since his IPL debut a decade ago.

Ashwin was also involved in a crucial 53-run stand for the third wicket along with Devdutt Padikkal, who raced away to a well-made 30-ball knock of 48 with six fours and two sixes. On the back of his knock, the Royals scored 160 runs in 20 overs, although they couldn’t quite accelerate in the end.

ASHWIN HOGS LIMELIGHT

During his knock, Ashwin pulled off the funny-looking stance while facing left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav. The batter might have taken the stance in order to disturb the bowler’s concentration. Ashwin, eventually, got out to medium-pacer Mitchell Marsh in the 15th over while trying to up the ante.

Ashwin has resorted to different antics on the field, after which he grabbed the headlines. In the meantime, the users on the social media platform had a laugh about Ashwin’s latest improvisation in the middle. They didn’t take time to pull out hilarious comments.
